I am still at a loss for words, having been a part of the most magical experience last week. When Valentina from The Stars Inside contacted me in May 2020 regarding an elopement wedding for an UK couple in the Namibian Desert, I was hesitant to reply, as I first thought it was a hoax email! What are the chances that I would get the chance to build a floral arch in the red dunes of Sossusvlei, and being PAID to do so?! That is literally bucket list stuff! When the booking fee landed in my account, I realized this was for real! But nothing could have prepared us for the raw beauty of Namibia, the friendly native people, incredibly kind couple and the talented service providers we would encounter on our trip! Our hearts are still full to the brim of what we were blessed to be a part of! THANK YOU doesn’t seem to be enough. Thank you Daniela + Bilal for choosing ME, for trusting me to deliver on your elopement dreams, for looking after us so well, but most importantly, for honouring and appreciating me as a creative. That to me is the biggest ‘payment’ of all! As a creative I literally pour my heart into each and every wedding’s florals I create. It ends up being an extension of myself, almost a gift from my heart and hands to the couple. And to see true and honest appreciation for my craft is priceless. Thank you Daniela + Bilal for doing just that. We can’t thank you enough for taking Pierre and myself along on this wild adventure of yours and would happily trek over more dunes in gale force winds with buckets of flowers for the two of you again!
