Cody and Heather came from the USA to South Africa to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. They wanted something classic, romantic and timeless, with an African touch. So we searched all over and finally found a tame zebra to incorporate in the shoot! He is now 12 years old and was hand raised by his ‘human adoptive dad’ since he has been 4 days old, after his mom passed away. So adorable to see the special bond between dad and son! He absolutely loves human contact, he actually thrives on it! Such a gentle soul and a huge honour to have been graced by his beautiful presence! We also incorporated some rich, luxurious rose gold and burgundy tones which beautifully contrasted against the softer, pink pallette of blushing brides and king proteas, both indigenous to South Africa. Janita Toerien custom made a nude and black bustier style dress with a pleated bodice in a combination of utterly soft chiffon and tulle that beautifully moved in the wind.
